Alice hesitated but then took a hold of his hand. She was reluctant but there’s a huge part of her that just couldn’t step away from the Cheshire cat. He was like a magnet that draws her in every moment he spoke. He holds the truth, one of the many reasons she was so into him. She knew this chain wasn’t her enemy. She was sure he was not a threat to her.
“Cheshire” she suddenly called out. “Is it alright if I ask something?” Alice asked as she neared him. “About the tragedy… Jack… and that tower…”
His crimson eye widened slightly before he averted his gaze. Alice had used her will to erase her memories, and he had kept them safe for a hundred years. Now all that was left, were his own memories. All the pain, and all the sadness— he couldn’t return it to Alice. However, he couldn’t just walk away, either. Not now that he had finally found her again. He flicked his tail, looking back at Alice again as he blinked slowly.
“You may ask,” he replied, “but I don’t know if I can give you the answers you are looking for.”
